23

Today is my Birthday, the big 23, and I feel brand new. I like New Year's for the resolutions and what have you, but I like Birthday's better. I can actually say it's a new year for me and that means new goals. This year especially because last year was just a messy disaster filled with more tear filled jars than I can count on. Way too much sadness filled myself but also lessons to be learned. So for that I am thankful for the chaos that was 22. I was inspired by this post awhile back and thought it would be neat to do the same for myself.

1. Learn how to cook
2. Always agree to a date (even if I really don't want too..this could be hard.)
3. Apply to Nursing School in March
4. Apply to ASU to complete a Bachelors while waiting
5. Take a foreign language class or 2
6. Make 10 new friends
7. Go without sugar for a month
8. Learn to sew
9. Sew something for my soon-to-be 3 new nephews
10. Send letters to my out of state friends
11. Get a new car
12. Pay off my credit card
13. Make a routine for weekly exercise
14. Volunteer at a hospital
15. Learn how to master the bun
16. Learn new ways to put on makeup
17. Read 3 books
18. Buy a camera
19. Learn how to take pictures
20. Spend more time with family/siblings
21. Read the scriptures again
22. Keep this blog updated weekly
23. Stop searching for a boyfriend. :)

My Birthday spent as a 23 year old has already had me in smiles, tons of texts, lots of facebook lovin and lunch with Nicole, Owen, Kev and my mom.

Here is a picture that I found this week with me as a child with #15 already mastered by my mother..I will master this hairstyle and sport it (if I have the guts).

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Disneyland in pictures

One of my favorite rides was closed down..you couldn't even walk by it they closed it off with a fence.

Me, Aubrey, Morgan and Sarah

This is a definite must have--Cream-Cheese filled pretzels. They are deliciously sweet.

Hand-dipped corn dogs is where it's at!

As you can see, California was good to us..I ate more then enough fats/sweets to last a lifetime, but in the end I had a lot of fun and that was really the only thing I was looking for. I even got to meet Morgan who happens to know a lot of people I do and is a lot of fun. She knows more facts about Disneyland than anyone I know and she happened to take most of these pictures. I can't wait for round 2 whenever that will be! Corn-dogs/churros/yogurt cones/pretzels/frozen lemonade/Mickey/crying on rides due to laughter/picture taking madness/Aladdin show..etc etc etc I am ready for you again.

yep.

After looking at my cheesy title for the past few years I decided to change it on a whim {who knows, maybe next week it will be even more cheesier..or back to the old one?}. For now I'm going to keep it because it's simple, it's short, it's me. This week I have been scanning the internet far too much..is there a career out there where all you do is search for interesting, fun things on the internet?!? If so, please let me know..I would love that. I was skimming the J.Crew's 2011 Spring collection on Fashionista and wanted to post some outfits that I could find myself wearing..that is, if I robbed a bank.

I need a knockoff of that sequined skirt asap. Here's to the weekend!

just when you thought you've done it all..

Whenever the magical place of Disneyland comes up in any kind of conversation we all seem to squeal with excitement over those tasty churros, those wonderful Disney characters, crazy parades, those rides that never seem to get old and of course our very own childhood memories/traditions. Last month was no exception when I was asked if I wanted to take a trip to CA to the most "Happiest Place on Earth", aka the land of Disney. Whenever I think of Disneyland I think of when they used to sell Strawberry Churros alongside the original cinnamon and sugar, I think of our family going pretty much annually as kids piled in an Astro Van, I think of racing to the Matterhorn {and it's a small world for Shawnda} and I think of buying any kind of glass collectible dog that I could have my mom buy for me. However, this weekend sort of changed me for I have done a few different things that I have never done before. For starters, I went with a group of girlfriends in which one of the girls introduced us to the hand-dipped corn dogs..amazing. She also introduced us to what Club 33 was and where the center of Disneyland was marked, I had my first Disneyland swirled yogurt cone, I also had my first try of a Mickey cream cheese-filled pretzel (yes, I gained 10 lbs). But that's not all, I can honestly say the next time someone brings up Disneyland I will forever think of being dragged to Captain EO and LOVING IT!! I HIGHLY recommend Captain EO in 3D. I laughed, I cried, I was inspired..but mostly, I just laughed. It will change your whole Disneyland experience!! How come I have never seen this before...and who cares about the awful editing/3D picture when the floor bouncing and the random bursts of air in your face is enough to put a smile on your face. MJ why did you have to leave us???
